A jackpot built on both sides of the Atlantic
The current jackpot is the first built entirely by players on both sides of the Atlantic. Powerball sales expanded to the United Kingdom in July, but British players could buy tickets from the start of this multi-drawing run for the first time. The association said in a July news release that the international player base is expected to help jackpots grow faster, without changing the $2 ticket price or the jackpot odds.
