Actress and reality-TV star Lisa Rinna is in the spotlight this week as her new holiday campaign for Express, "Holiday, Hamlin Style," launches. The shoot features Rinna alongside her husband, Harry Hamlin, and their daughter, Delilah Belle Hamlin, and it marks a seasonal shift for the family as Rinna prepares for her first Christmas in New York.

A family shoot for the holidays

In the campaign, Rinna tries festive classics including high-shine sequins, Santa-red gowns and cozy knits. Delilah's boyfriend, Mick Maio, also appeared in the shoot, which Rinna described as a full family affair. People.com also covered the campaign as an exclusive.

Rinna said working with her relatives brought back memories of her own holiday traditions, especially matching outfits with her family in Christmas sweaters. She said the project even suggested a possible look for this year.

Style tips from the reality-TV star

Rinna said a cozy knit is the easiest way to shift into the holiday mood. She described wearing a festive sweater with Delilah during the shoot, saying a cute Christmas sweater "makes you feel like Christmas."

She also said she rarely matches her daughters, who are three years apart, except at Christmas. Her stated rule for the season is simple: anything uncomfortable, such as scratchy sequins or stiff velvet, can be retired. For her own go-to look, she named a sharp pantsuit in red, green or gold, provided it is tailored well.

Party survival and a move to Manhattan

Rinna, who is known for the Bravo series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, said she is trading Beverly Hills for Manhattan this holiday season. She is set to star in the Off-Broadway revival of Neil Simon's Rumors, scheduled to run from January 9 through February 28. Her first holiday plan in the city is watching the Thanksgiving Day parade from her apartment.

On holiday parties, Rinna said her approach is to leave when she is ready without a formal goodbye. "I don't say goodbye," she said. "I just slip out." She also said she would rather skip an event than sit through an uncomfortable conversation.

What comes next

The campaign launched on the day of the Bustle interview, and Rinna's Broadway-bound role in Rumors is expected to follow early next year. Express's campaign was also covered by Marketing Dive, which reported on the brand's holiday push as it builds on recent brand metric gains.

Rinna's public schedule for the season is now set between the Express campaign, the Thanksgiving and Christmas plans in New York, and the January opening of her stage run.

Lisa Rinna's holiday campaign with her family, along with her style and party advice, puts a warm, seasonal focus on her return to the spotlight.
